Born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina, where I am the oldest of four siblings, I was raised to believe in teamwork, being responsible and taking accountability for one’s actions. The development and drive for entrepreneurship started when I was 12 when I got my first job on a paper route in my neighborhood. My family couldn’t afford to buy me an Atari game system so I took the job on the paper route. I worked hard and saved a little money every week until I had enough to get my game. Through that experience, I learned the power of community, friendship and helping others that I have always carried with me in everything I do.
As I got older I knew that success was what I made it and I came up with a plan. I went to Greenville Technical College in Greenville, South Carolina, and Barber-Scotia College in Concord, North Carolina, where I studied Business Administration and went on to a corporate career in outside sales. I eventually became responsible for Sales and Business Development for various companies in Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida while operating with an annual budget of over 4.5 million dollars.
I have always felt it was my purpose to help those less fortunate never forgetting where I came from and how much work it took to achieve my goals. I knew that I could take my experience, success in business and my faith to help those less fortunate. I have spent over 13 years in the community feeding the homeless and working with needy families and I have seen what can be achieved, and now I want to do more.
As a member of the United House of Prayer for All People, and a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated I am dedicated to not only my community in faith, leadership and social equity but in the future of accessibility, honesty and professionalism that only I can provide as your new Commissioner for Henry County District 2.
